You don’t have to travel across the pond to England to find the perfect setting for a cozy mystery. The quiet, unassuming village in which time seems to stand still exists here in the United States. Forbes created a list of cities that fit the bill. Here are five of the best.
The Central California coastal town of Cambria, California is a town that designer Erin Anderson says “is truly a small town, complete with general store, antique shopping and shops featuring local artisans.”
Situated on beautiful Puget Sound, Union, Washington sits among green hills covered with evergreens. Quiet neighborhoods and friendly homes make this a cozy town.
Cape May, located at the southern tip of New Jersey, is an old fashioned town with Victorian homes and inviting bed and breakfasts.
Author Sarah Dunn calls Lake Placid, New York the classic Main Street set in a background of pine-speckled hills and pristine small lakes.
On the banks of the Mississippi River Guttenberg, Iowa with its Main Street storefronts and quaint houses is a slice of early Americana.
These villages are perfect settings for the classic cozy mystery.
Cape May = perfect!
The victim could get tangled in fishing line and drown at the docks . . . or get locked in cold storage with the lobsters . . . or be impaled by Victorian trim off Gingerbread Houses . . .
Great post!
